Equality at Content and Code
Content and Code support and promotes equal opportunity. We want
to treat everyone we serve, employ and work with fairly and with
respect. We also want to promote fairness.
People can be unfairly treated because of their class, colour,
beliefs, religion, race, ethnic or national origin, disability,
sex, age, sexuality, marital status or health. We aim to ensure
that no individual is treated less favourably because of these
reasons or other reasons that cannot be justified.
This means that for our clients and customers we aim to:
- Provide services that meet people's needs without prejudice or
bias
- Provide clear information in plain English and use large print,
if needed
- Work with all sections of the community
- Review and monitor our services to make sure they do not
unfairly discriminate against anyone
- Work with others to prevent harassment and violence
- Act quickly on complaints of unlawful discrimination and
harassment.
For staff we aim to:
- Prevent unlawful, direct and indirect discrimination, including
sexual harassment
- Adopt policies, procedures and programs consistent with equal
opportunity and anti-discrimination principles
- Make sure we recruit staff fairly
- Make sure people are treated fairly and promote harmony and
well-being at work
- Develop a culture and work environment which is free from
unfair discrimination and harassment
- Act quickly on complaints of unlawful discrimination and
harassment
- Provide a safe, secure and accessible working environment which
values and respects individual identities and cultures
- Listen and respond to what different groups of staff have to
say
- Have an international workforce that represents every level of
the communities in which we work
- Review and monitor our policies and procedures to make sure
they treat all staff fairly.
