Business Challenge

Having won many prestigious awards it was time for Ujima to raise their public profile and be positioned as a market leader. As more tenants were going on-line, updating their website was a major part of their re-branding strategy. Ujima were still relying on their original website design had become stale and was difficult to navigate. Information was regularly out of date due to the difficult process of referring content changes to IT technicians for publication. Building an interactive website that complied with accessibility standards would be required to co-ordinate with the launch of their new brand.

Our Solution

Content and Code built an eye-catching website that was interactive and fun. The Creative Design Team developed a fresh look that focused on people to better represent how Ujima deals with customers. Microsoft Content Management Server was used to allow the communications department to dynamically update information and images without requiring support from the IT department.

Tenants can quickly find contact details and essential information through enhanced navigational functionality such as a search bar, a service selector and a regional map selector. An area called "You-Jima" was also created for interactive fun and games.

Care was taken to ensure the website fully complied with accessibility guidelines. Features such as text readers, text resizing and even a background colour changer ensure that all members can use the site.

The website was delivered in time to co-ordinate with their marketing campaign launch. In order to save on technical infrastructure, maintenance and support, Content and Code was chosen as an outsource solution. The website has been so successful that Ujima were presented with two prestigious FBHO awards including Outstanding BME Housing Association Website.
