Breadcrumbs:

Campaign to Protect Rural England

A registered charity with approximately 59,000 members and supporters, CPRE effectively advocates on both the local and national level for development that respects England's most valuable resource - its rural environment.

Business Challenge

As the government rolled out a complex new planning regime, CPRE needed to find a way of getting practical information to local campaigners so they could engage in the new planning process and protect their communities. Could a website help de-mystify the revised planning process while providing practical hints and tips for local campaigners?

Our Solution

Addressing a range of sensible planning and development issues, the CPRE Planning Help website offers a clear and coherent content architecture so users can benefit from CPRE's substantial content offering. Accordingly, the website design features personalised, multi-layered navigation that both directs users to content based on their specific planning needs and provides a range of related content in an 'Amazon-like content referral' manner - all managed using Microsoft Content Management Server.

What's more, CPRE chose to host their new website using Content and Code's affordable Outsourcing Service as a way of saving costs on technical infrastructure and maintenance while focusing resources on maintaining up-to-date content. The result - a practical online toolkit with up-to-the-minute content that empowers users to engage in the planning process and protect the local environment.
