Search and Retrieval
The search functionality offered
by SharePoint Portal
Server enables users to quickly find information which is not
easily accessible by navigation. Users will be directed to 'Best
Bets' that are considered particularly relevant to their search.
These are displayed at the top of the search results, making it
easier for employees to find the information they need quickly.
Users can also sign-up to be notified about changes to specific
documents, folders or even a competitor's website via Share Point
Portal Server's 'Subscriptions'.
Administrators can easily limit access to information to ensure
sensitive information does not appear in the search for employees
who have not been granted access.
