Craig Beard

Craig Beard - COO and Co-Founder

Key responsibilities

  • Ensuring the company’s business units have everything they need to meet our clients’ objectives
  • Working with Microsoft to drive strategy and ensure effective delivery of new product offerings
  • Collaborating with clients to create offerings tailored towards their goals
  • Recruitment and talent-spotting

What’s your background?

“I left Australia when I was quite young to study for a Masters in Economics at Washington State University. Subsequently, I worked at a dot.com start up in New York before moving to the UK to head-up the London office.

After the dot.com bust, Tim and I saw a need for affordable content management systems. So we bit the bullet and founded Content and Code. Our first clients were housing associations, charities and public services. The desire to do some good has always been a big part of what we’re all about.”

What’s been your biggest achievement with Content and Code?

“The one that gives me the most satisfaction is undoubtedly our award-winning project for the RNIB. It’s no exaggeration to say that it changed lives.

But it couldn’t have happened without the work we’ve done over the past few years to shift the focus of the company to our client’s goals. When that clicked in I was immensely proud. We are so agile and responsive now. And we always approach a project with our clients’ interests at heart.”

What are you working on right now?

“In July I’m off to the Worldwide Microsoft Partner Conference in Washington. For the past year, we’ve been working with Microsoft to evolve their cloud strategy.

The exciting thing about the cloud is that top-of-the-range software is now available to organisations that never could have otherwise afforded it.”

What’s your vision for Content and Code

“We’ll always evolve our business towards the best solutions for our clients. And over the next few years that is sure to be with the cloud.

Our job is to give clients the advice and support they’ll need to get the best out of the cloud. For some clients it will make sense to move to a fully hosted solution. But others will retain some services on their premises. Either way, we’ll lead them through the whole process as their trusted business partners.”
