The early days
Content and Code was born from the ashes of the dot com crash in 2001. Web technologies had emerged and in the early days, the company worked with various technologies and development platforms.
In 2002 the idea formed that there was a better way to do business and with the newly released Microsoft business applications, namely SharePoint and Content Management Server, there was an opportunity to advance into different markets with more specialised needs.
Signs of success
While initially providing solutions mainly for UK housing associations, such as Guinness Trust Group, and NHS trusts, including University College London Hospitals – Content and Code’s client base expanded to include a wide range of sectors as Microsoft technologies, especially SharePoint, grew in popularity.
Microsoft SharePoint offered Content and Code an opportunity to focus on a single technology platform, which included a wide-ranging product set that would service most of our customers. Content and Code obtained Microsoft Certified Partnership status in 2003.
Rapid, sustained growth
Content and Code’s vision to be “The number one SharePoint Provider in the UK”, combined with Microsoft’s strong support and robust sales channels, allowed the company to grow rapidly, acquiring top clients such as:
- The British Council
- Williams Lea
- The Body Shop
- Virgin Atlantic
Working faster and better
In early 2008, as the size and sophistication of its solutions grew, the company changed its working methodology from the traditional ‘waterfall’ approach to an agile working methodology called Scrum.
This change helped the company shift to a more consistent and team-based project delivery approach, enabling it to rapidly produce solutions that met clients’ goals.
Committed client relationships with big-name brands
The unique client engagement process and expertise gained by Content and Code staff has helped sustain on-going and committed client relationships with first class global enterprises such as:
- Everything Everywhere
- BG Group
- Johnson Matthey
- Balfour Beatty
- Old Mutual Group
- Buro Happold
- Qatar Gas
