Overview

The successful Technical Consultant will have worked with Exchange, Office 365 and Azure AD for 3+ years. Design, implementation and migration experience with these technologies is essential, along with a passion for Microsoft cloud technology. Experience with Lync or Skype for Business is also preferable.

About the Team

Content and Code’s Technology Enablement team partner with organisations to plan, prepare and migrate to Microsoft cloud productivity and security technologies. We achieve this by applying deep on-premises and cloud expertise to meet technical, regulatory and usability needs. Our close relationship with Microsoft allows us to keep up with emerging practices and evergreen service changes, ensuring robust and forward-facing solutions.

Job Role Responsibilities

  • Delivering technology workshops within scope and budget
  • Scope and identify client requirements to create robust designs
  • Support project delivery from start to finish to include:
    • Scoping and design
    • Environment preparation
    • Infrastructure implementation and delegation of tasks to other team members
    • Business alignment
    • User transition to upgraded platform
    • Transition from delivery into Managed Services
  • Lead (as necessary) messaging and unified communications related projects in accordance with the Content and Code Project Delivery Framework
  • Support sales and marketing in winning new business
  • Escalate appropriate challenges to Head of Technology Enablement and get designs signed off for delivery
  • Support the wider project and operational teams
  • Investigate and review industry standard Messaging, Unified Communications and related security solutions to continually improve service offerings
  • Ensure that a deep technical understanding of each service component and application, its architecture and configuration is handed over to BAU support for both client and managed service teams

Essential Experience and Skills

  • Very strong documentation and communication skills
  • 3+ years’ experience in Exchange Server 2007, 2010 or 2013
  • 3+ years’ experience with Office 365
  • 2-3 Deployed Exchange Migration projects to Exchange Online using Hybrid and Staged or Cutover methods
  • Experience working for a consulting organisation in a professional services environment
  • Strong understanding of Identity Management Solutions aligned to Office 365 include Azure AD, Azure AD Connect and AD FS)
  • Strong understanding of mail archive systems and migration strategies
  • Good understanding of networking infrastructure (IP/TCP, Proxies, Networking, Firewalls)
  • Good understanding of server platform requirements (AV, Windows Server 03/08/12, IIS)
  • Good understanding of Active Directory Domain Services (AD, DNS)
  • Good understanding of third party migration tools (MigrationWiz, TransVault)
  • Good understanding and capability using PowerShell relating to Exchange and Azure AD
  • Mobility/BYO devices such as BlackBerry Enterprise Server, Android, iOS and Microsoft Windows Mobile
  • Education: Computing related Degree or equivalent industry experience

Desirable Experience and Skills

  • Delivered a migration project of 2000+ users
  • Knowledge and deployment experience with Lync 2010/2013 and Skype for Business 2015
  • Knowledge and deployment experience of Office Pro Plus
  • Knowledge and deployment experience of OneDrive for Business
  • Knowledge and deployment of the Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS) suite
  • Knowledge and deployment experience of SCOM, SCCM and/or Intune
  • Microsoft Certification MCSE, MCITP, MCSA in Exchange, Office 365 and/or Lync 2013
  • An understanding of SharePoint
