Mammoth bike ride raises £2.2k for charity

The race, which starts in Stratford and finishes at The Mall, follows the 2012 Olympic race route through 100 miles of closed off roads through central London and the beautiful Surrey countryside.
Our team of ten set off at the crack of dawn on a sunny Sunday, all completing the race easily under the nine hour time limit. Matthew Holden and Tristan Watkins rode together for the duration of the ride, both the first of the team to cross the finish line, with a time of 5:55:50.
Josh Waite said: “Once we got a bit out of London and away from the crazy crowds, most of the ride went smoothly. The last 30 miles was pretty rough though – it took a few days before I could feel my legs again.”
The team managed to raise £2200, easily smashing their original goal of £1000. Combined with our other fundraising efforts this year from various activities like bake-off competitions, breakfast clubs and a pancake day, overall Content and Code have raised over £3000 so far for Children with Cancer UK.
